Here we are driving through a very cold Northern Wisconsin.
Yesterday we left Nashville at around 9, picked up Greg in Chicago and drove to Eau Claire, Wisconsin. I guess I got to sleep around 3 thanks to a good heater a the Eau Claire Days Inn.
Now we’ve had a good breakfast and we’re off the interstate and up a 4 lane through the middle of dairy country on our way to Aurora, Minnesota.
The Weather Channel said it was 21 degrees with a windchill of 13 when we left the hotel, and seeing as how our show tonight is practically on the Ontario border, I’m guessing it’s going to be pretty chilly there too.
It’s been a pretty busy week, with Mashville, another Station Inn show on Wednesday to raise funds for a new sound system there, and some writing here and there.
Both shows were pretty fun, and I also got to be a guest Grascal on Wednesday. Those guys are a lot of fun!
I got some pictures of the old theatre that we performed at last week, but I left my camera at the Station Inn on Wednesday… so I’ll have to get those up later.
Anyway, show tonight, then a show in Chicago tomorrow night.
Hope everyone’s staying warm!
This weekend, it’s off to Marion, Virginia to perform for a taping of the “Song of the Mountains” concert series. The show will be broadcasted on PBS at some time in the future, and hopefully we’ll make some new Special C fans! It’s an odd one show weekend, which means get up really early, drive all day, soundcheck, eat, play a show, then get up early again and drive back to Nashville.
I’ve been fighting off sinus issues for the last week or two, so sorry if I’ve been a little lax on the updates. I’m lazy! hehe
Anyway, it’s Virginia tomorrow and then next week after Mashville it’s somewhere in northern Minnesota, and then Chicago again!
Hope everybody has a good weekend!
I’ll be on my way to Chicago, Illinois and Madison, Wisconsin this weekend.
Come on out and see the Special C if you’re in the area.
Back on the road again!
Yesterday we played the WIthlacoochee Bluegrass Festival which is about 30 minutes outside of Ocalla, Florida.
Now we’re on the road headed for Columbia, SC.
Fall is in the air and the drive down here from Nashville was actually pretty nice. Change of scenery, at least!
Thanks to the folks who came to the Monster Mashville Haloween Party.
There are some interesting pictures on the Bluegrass Blog if you’d like to see my “outfit”.
Maybe I’ll get them up on here later… can’t do it from my PDA.
Just confirmed yesterday that The Mashville Brigade will be pickin’ at a special Wednesday night show on Nov. 19th at the Station Inn to help the Inn get some new sound gear. The Grascals, and other big ol’ Bluegrass stars will be performing as well.
OK, well I hope everyone’s having a great Haloween weekend.
